Bridgette McNab is a graphic still life and portrait painter whose work explores reoccurring themes of femininity and the representation of women.
Heavily influenced by the films of French New Wave directors and their approach to storytelling, McNab’s vibrant works explore the referential dialogues that exist between painting and cinema.
Based in Melbourne, McNab has been a finalist in many of Australia’s most esteemed art prizes including The Archibald Prize in 2014, The Doug Moran National Portrait Prize in 2013, 2014 and 2017 and The Portia Geach Memorial Award in 2010.
